The visit of the Director of the National Institute of Justice to the Superior Council of Magistracy
On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, accompanied by the head of the Continuing Education Section, Octavian Bivol, visited the Superior Council of the Magistracy to hold discussions with the President Sergiu Caraman and the members of the CSM.
During the meeting, multiple topics aimed at strengthening the collaboration between the National Institute of Justice and the Superior Council of Magistracy and current challenges in the judicial sector were addressed. A special emphasis was placed on increasing the attractiveness of the professions of judge and prosecutor, in the context in which the interest of young people in this career registers a significant decline.
The dialogue highlighted the need to corroborate institutional strategies in the areas of promoting the profession of magistrate, improving public perception of the judicial system and ensuring a predictable framework for hiring graduates of the National Institute of Justice. Also, aspects were analyzed regarding the diversification of the training format, complementary to the classic one, and the organization of regional trainings with the involvement, as trainers, of judges from the northern and southern courts.
A separate topic of the discussions was the development of the ToT component, including the selection and specialization criteria of INJ trainers, with the aim of capitalizing and institutionally preserving highly qualified human resources in the judicial field.
The meeting represented an important step in the direction of strengthening the cooperation between the National Institute of Justice and the Superior Council of the Magistracy, establishing the premises of actions that would streamline the training process of both future judges and existing judges.
