The deputy director of the National Institute of Justice, Ghennadi Epure, received the delegation of the Romanian Competition Council, consisting of Bogdan Marius Chirițoiu, president, members Cosmin Belacurencu and Adrian Stelian Comănescu, as well as Cristina Butacu, Twinning resident advisor. At the meeting that took place on Monday, September 8, 2025, the head of the didactic-methodical and trainer training section, Cezara-Elena Polisca, and the head of the continuous training section, Octavian Bivol, also participated.

During the discussions, potential collaborations regarding training in competition law were addressed, the increasing importance of this field being emphasized in the context of aligning our country with European standards and the need for the effective application of national legislation in the matter.

The deputy director of the INJ presented the initiatives taken to improve the professional training of future judges and prosecutors, by introducing the discipline dedicated to competition law. At the same time, the process of developing the Continuing Education Plan for 2026 was started, which will include a new thematic module entitled "Commercial Law". It will include transversal activities that will also address the issue of competition law, offering an integrated perspective on the matter and strengthening the interdisciplinary skills of magistrates.

The parties also discussed the training session that will be held within the Twinning Project "Strengthening the institutional capacity of the Competition Council for the application of the policy in the field of competition and state aid, in accordance with the best practices of the EU", which will be attended by both judges specialized in administrative law and civil law, as well as prosecutors. The objective of the training program is to familiarize the participants with the European standards regarding the implementation of the rules in the field of competition and state aid, as well as to strengthen the institutional capacity by taking over established models at the European level.

The parties also agreed that the materials developed during the collaboration will be integrated into the educational resources of the National Institute of Justice for future use.
