Courtesy visit of the head of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration in the Republic of Moldova to the National Institute of Justice
On Friday, August 15, 2025, the director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, together with the deputy director of the INJ, Ghennadi Epure, received the head of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration in the Republic of Moldova, Ester Ruiz de Azua. The meeting was also attended by Ecaterina Popa, head of the Training and Research Directorate, and Diana Donoaga-Certan, IOM program coordinator.
During the meeting, the discussions were focused on cooperation in the field of training for representatives of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova. The two sides emphasized that the relations between the INJ and the IOM have experienced a dynamic development in recent years and emphasized the importance of continuing the established partnership.
The agenda of the meeting focused on the organization of five training sessions over the course of a year, intended both for the beneficiaries of the National Institute of Justice and for other categories of practitioners in the legal sector. Also, a special emphasis was placed on the digitization and piloting on online training platforms of courses dedicated to financial investigations and asset recovery, as well as combating human trafficking. At the same time, the need to develop new digital educational resources was addressed.
It should be noted that the National Institute of Justice carries out the training of prosecutors and judges in the field of combating the crimes of human trafficking and other related crimes, with a victim-centered approach, falling within the objectives of the National Strategy to prevent and combat human trafficking for the years 2024-2028.
