Public lecture at the INJ held by the European prosecutor Dana Manuela Ana

The audience of the National Institute of Justice, candidates for the positions of judge and prosecutor of the 19th promotion, participated on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in the public lesson on the theme "The European Public Prosecutor's Office: a new actor in the European judicial system", supported by Mrs. Dana Manuela Ana, European prosecutor delegated within the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO).

In the opening, the director of INJ, Ramona Strugariu, and the deputy director, Ghennadi Epure, emphasized the importance of dialogue with practitioners from European structures. They also highlighted the relevance of such activities for the understanding of European mechanisms, at a time when the Republic of Moldova is advancing on the path of integration and strengthening its capacity to operate according to the standards of the European Union's judicial system.

During the presentation, Mrs. Dana Manuela Ana explained the role and powers of the European Public Prosecutor's Office, the management of cross-border investigations and the coordination between member states. The participants were familiarized with the duties of the delegated prosecutors, the duration of the mandates, the procedures for reporting and authorizing investigations, as well as with the main challenges of the EPPO's work. At the same time, the contribution of this institution to protecting the financial interests of the European Union was emphasized.
