"Through art we combat disinformation #AdevărDespreMigrație #TănăraGenerațieȘtie": a new republican fine arts competition
The National Institute of Justice and the "Alexei Șciusev" School of Fine Arts, in partnership with the Council of Europe Project "Strengthening the protection of human rights of refugees and migrants from the Republic of Moldova: phase II", announce the 6th edition of the republican fine arts competition
"Through art we fight misinformation #TruthAboutMigration #YoungGenerationKnows”.
The fine arts competition is aimed at students aged between 11 and 18 from general schools, secondary schools, high schools, art schools, centers of excellence and art colleges across the country.
This year's edition aims to develop critical thinking among young people by encouraging them to distinguish true from false information, including about refugees and migrants; promoting empathy and understanding towards the plight of refugees and migrants through the artistic exploration of their real stories; cultivating civic spirit through awareness of the impact of misinformation on society and public perception, as well as stimulating students' interest in self-expression through artistic creation.
The works can be made in various techniques (oil, watercolor, gouache, ink, pencil, pastel, mixed technique, batik, collage, tapestry, etc.) or in volumetric compositions (ceramics, sculpture, papier mache, wire, thread, etc.).
The evaluation of the creations will be carried out by a jury made up of members of the Union of Plastic Artists from the Republic of Moldova, teachers and representatives of the organizing and professional institutions, and the award ceremony will take place at the end of May.
The conditions and stages of the competition can be consulted HERE.
The action is part of the series of activities carried out on the basis of the Collaboration Agreement signed by the National Institute of Justice and the "Alexei Șciusev" School of Fine Arts.
