Prospects for cooperation with the Swedish National Court Administration, discussed at the National Institute of Justice


this week, a delegation from the Swedish National Courts Administration (SNCA) is in Chisinau, on a documentation mission to explore the possibilities of a future collaboration including with the National Institute of Justice. Today, June 25, 2025, the director of the INJ, Ramona Strugariu, received the head of the SNCA International Relations Unit, Ludvig Becking, and the legal advisers: Pernilla Nordvall and Lina Zettergren, who were accompanied by the program coordinator from the Embassy of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova, Tatiana Lungu. From INJ, the head of the Training and Research Directorate, Ecaterina Popa, and the head of the Continuous Training Section, Octavian Bivol, also participated in the meeting.

During the dialogue, Ramona Strugariu reported the way of organization and operation of the National Institute of Justice as a unique training platform on four dimensions: initial training, continuous training, trainer training and e-learning. He also presented his vision on the methodology of training practitioners in the legal sector according to the needs of the system.

The Swedish delegation presented the competence areas of SNCA, which include the communication of judges with the parties and the public, the optimization of organizational aspects for the efficiency of the courts, as well as the strengthening of skills in judgecraft and professional ethics. With more than three decades of experience in international cooperation for the development of the justice sector, SNCA uses the methodology based on the exchange of best practices between professionals in the Swedish judicial system and their counterparts in partner countries. The discussions highlighted the relevance of the areas of expertise of the Swedish partners for the training programs of the National Institute of Justice.

The representatives of the National Administration of the Courts of Sweden will evaluate the information collected following the meetings with the various legal institutions visited in the Republic of Moldova and will develop a medium and long-term collaboration framework that will meet the identified needs.
