We are launching a new e-course on the HELP Platform of the Council of Europe

Dear beneficiaries of the National Institute of Justice,

The National Institute of Justice is launching a new distance learning course on The HELP platform of the Council of Europe (click on the name for more information about the course):

Asylum and Human Rights (20 hours of training);

Tutoring: certified HELP tutors;

Active period of the course: February 12 – March 12, 2024;

Participants: judges, prosecutors, lawyers providing state-guaranteed legal assistance, judicial assistants;

Certification: Beneficiaries will receive certificates certifying their participation in this e-course, issued by the HELP and INJ Unit (20 hours of training).

The e-course focuses on the presentation of the international and European asylum framework, as well as the relevant jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union. The five modules address the following priority issues related to asylum: non-refoulement, the right to life and the prohibition of ill-treatment, detention and reception, family life and the right to an effective remedy.

The course will be provided by INJ with the support of the Council of Europe Project "Strengthening the protection of human rights of refugees and migrants from the Republic of Moldova".

Registration period for the e-course: 15 January – 5 February 2024.

The e-course launch event will take place in physical format on February 12, 2024. Participants who confirm their availability to participate in the event will receive additional information regarding the event agenda and other important details.
