Meeting with representatives of the GIZ Project "Consolidation of the rule of law and anti-corruption mechanisms in the Republic of Moldova"
The interim director of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu, met, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, with the representatives of the "Consolidation of the rule of law and anti-corruption mechanisms in the Republic of Moldova" Project, implemented by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), - Janine Baudach, project manager, and Victor Bufteac, anti-corruption and integrity policy adviser. The meeting was also attended by Ecaterina Popa, head of the Training and Research Directorate, and Tatiana Ciaglic, head of the Legal Information Center.
Discussions focused on several aspects of collaboration. Thus, the project representatives proposed the organization of an event to highlight the achievements achieved within the project, including the training activities for INJ beneficiaries in areas of current importance, such as financial investigations and the recovery of criminal assets, the investigation of cases of illicit enrichment and money laundering, etc.
Another topic addressed at the meeting was the launch at the National Institute of Justice of two e-learning modules: "International cooperation in criminal matters" and "Financial analysis using Excel". The e-courses were offered by the Basel Institute of Governance and will be delivered on the Institute's ILIAS distance learning platform.
The GIZ project "Consolidation of the rule of law and anti-corruption mechanisms in the Republic of Moldova" is financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, with the main objective of contributing to the prevention and fight against corruption in the Republic of Moldova.
