The National Institute of Justice, visited by the Executive Director of the CEELI Institute, Robert R. Strang

On Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the National Institute of Justice, the interim Director of the INJ, Adrian Cerbu, met with the Executive Director of the CEELI Institute in Prague, Robert R. Strang, who was accompanied by the representatives of ABA ROLI Moldova – Mihaela Vidaicu, Director, and Ecaterina Vornicescu, legal advisor. The meeting was also attended by Olga Marandici, advisor to the INJ Director.

During the discussions, the parties addressed topics regarding the INJ mission of training professionals in the field of law, especially in the segment of continuous training, according to the needs identified in the system. In this context, the added value of the collaboration of foreign experts with national trainers in the process of training INJ beneficiaries was emphasized.

The good cooperation of the National Institute of Justice with ABAROLI Moldova and the CEELI Institute in conducting training sessions with specific themes, such as the investigation of corruption crimes, including financial investigation and cryptocurrency transactions, was also mentioned.

Consequently, it was agreed to jointly organize some trainings for INJ beneficiaries in order to share good practices and develop professional skills to face the current challenges regarding the management of corruption cases, money laundering, criminal liability of legal entities, illegal financing of political parties, etc.
