The National Institute of Justice begins registration for internships at courts and prosecutor's offices in Romania

The National Institute of Justice, in partnership with the National Institute of Magistracy in Romania and with the support of the International Development Cooperation Agency (RoAid), under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, is launching the project "Consolidating the institutional capacity of the National Institute of Justice in the Republic of Moldova".

This program aims to strengthen the capacities of INJ beneficiaries who have a mandate in the fields related to human rights, justice, training and anti-corruption, as well as to establish a long-term cooperation between practitioners in the neighboring state. Also, the program aims to create premises for cross-border cooperation.

Within the project, the following activities will be organized for INJ beneficiaries:

Activity 1. Internship at the courts of the Iaşi Court of Appeal constituency for three judges from the substantive courts.

Period 25-27.09.2023 (3 days), Iasi.

Activity 2. Internship at the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Iaşi Court of Appeal and/or subordinate prosecution units, for three prosecutors in office.

Period 25-27.09.2023 (3 days), Iasi.

Activity 3. Internship at the Bucharest Court for three judges from the substantive courts, specialized in the criminal/contravention field.

Period October 23-25, 2023 (3 days), Bucharest (will be held together with Activity 4 - Internship at the Bucharest Court of Appeal for three judges specialized in examining civil cases, insolvency and administrative litigation, of the same rank as the court).

Activity 4. Internship at the Bucharest Court of Appeal for three judges specialized in the examination of civil cases, insolvency and administrative litigation, of the same rank as the court, and internship at the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal and/or subordinate units for an incumbent prosecutor.

Period October 23-25, 2023 (3 days), Bucharest (it will be held together with Activity 3 - Internship at the Bucharest Court for three judges specialized in criminal/contravention matters from the substantive courts). 

The beneficiaries of the internships are obliged to send a report/evaluation to the address of INJ, INM and RoAid, within five days from the completion of the activity. The reports must contain information on the conduct of the internship and prove how its objectives were achieved. Additional information on how to prepare the report will be provided to the participants before the internship.

Beneficiaries:

The program is addressed to judges and prosecutors, INJ trainers, as well as INJ graduates.

Funding:

RoAid covers the costs of transport, accommodation and meals.

By submitting the documents requested in this announcement, should they be selected, the candidates accept that the internship will take place exclusively under the financial conditions approved at RoAid level. Also, if a selected participant initially confirms that he will take part in the activity, and after all procurement procedures have been completed he refuses to participate, then he will be obliged to bear all expenses covered by RoAid.

  • Curriculum vitae in Romanian;
  • Letter of motivation.

Registration deadline:

Applications can be submitted until August 15, 2023.

The internships will be carried out between September 25 and October 25, 2023.

Forms completed after the deadline will not be considered. Only selected candidates will be contacted.

Selection criteria:

  • compliance with specific eligibility conditions;
  • signed letter of motivation, which answers the question why you should be selected to participate in the internship;
  • recent non-participation (last two years) in other forms of international training through INJ;
  • the possibility and availability to disseminate the information to which they will have access by participating in the training program;
  • the activity of a trainer within the INJ is an advantage.
