The National Institute of Justice participated in the General Assembly of EJTN

On June 12-13, 2024, the General Assembly of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) took place. This year's edition was held in Brussels, under the auspices of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with the support of the Belgian Judicial Training Institute.

The event brought together representatives of judicial training institutions from the member states of the European Union, the European Commission and international organizations in the justice sector. On behalf of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu, Interim Director, and Olga Marandici, advisor to the INJ Director, participated.

The program of the EJTN General Assembly included presentations on the activities of working groups specialized in judicial training methods, exchange programs, digitalization and linguistic-legal skills, as well as workshops that focused on strategic topics for legal training institutions. Thus, at the workshop "Improving collaboration: continuous support and partnership with EJTN observers from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine", the continuation and strengthening of cooperation, in the context of the complex process of accession of these countries to the European community, and the provision of opportunities for the development and exchange of good practices with EU member states and other EU candidate states were discussed.

The publication was also launched during the event Judges@Europe 2023 which focuses on the rule of law and the good administration of justice in the digital age, edited by Stanislas Adam, Ingrid Derveaux, Gianluca Grasso and Fernando Vaz Ventura, with a foreword by Síofra O'Leary.

The presence of the delegation of the National Institute of Justice at the General Assembly was made possible thanks to the European Judicial Training Network and the joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Support for Justice Reform".

The National Institute of Justice has the status of member-observer of the European Judicial Training Network of magistracy schools in the member states of the European Union since July 1, 2016, with the entry into force of the Association Agreement of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union.
