The finalists of the republican fine arts competition "Through art we fight misinformation #TruthDespreMigrație #TănăraGenerațieȘtie", awarded for their creations

The celebration of creativity dedicated to the promotion of truth and fundamental rights marked the awarding ceremony of the republican fine arts competition "Through art we fight disinformation #TruthAboutMigration #YoungGenerationKnows". More than 100 students from the whole country, aged between 11 and 18, participated in the 6th edition of the competition organized by the National Institute of Justice and the "Alexei Șciusev" School of Fine Arts, in partnership with the Council of Europe project "Strengthening the protection of human rights of refugees and migrants from the Republic of Moldova: phase II".

The awards event took place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the National Institute of Justice, in the presence of students, teachers and parents. The Director of INJ, Ramona Strugariu, highlighted the potential of the new generation: "I think that the ability of young people to tell the truth to the face is famous, which, in times when fake news and disinformation wreak havoc, when it is sometimes very complicated to explain what justice and justice mean and why we need them, is invaluable. I want to encourage you to continue expressing yourself, to believe in what you do, to see the world with these eyes and let not this world change you later, but you change it."  

Falk Lange, head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, Olimpiada Spatari-Arbuz, director of the "A. Șciusev" School of Fine Arts, and Iurie Matei, president of the jury, People's Artist, head of the Fine Arts Department at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts, also spoke during the celebration.

The highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of prizes to the following laureates:

age category 11-14 years:

1st place - Iana Dragomir, "Alexei Șciusev" School of Fine Arts, Chisinau;

Second place - Beatrice Plăcintă, Alexei Șciusev School of Fine Arts, Chișinău;

Third place - Alisa Bianchin, "Alexei Șciusev" School of Fine Arts, Chisinau;

age category 15-18 years:

First place - Bianca Bandalac, "Alexei Șciusev" Fine Arts School, Chisinau;

Second place - Valeria Radu, Valeriu Poleakov School of Arts, Chisinau;

Third place - Svetlana Tucan, School of Arts, Cimișlia.

INJ and CoE special awards they reached Arina Rusu and Dana Gurgurov from the School of Arts in Cimișlia. Another ten contestants from Balti, Chisinau, Cimișlia, Edineț and Florești were given diplomas of merit and gifts in appreciation of the artistic skills shown in their works.

All students will receive certificates of participation. Their works, which bring a new perspective on justice and contemporary social issues, are already on display in the premises of the National Institute of Justice.

Republican Fine Arts Competition "Through art we fight disinformation #TruthAboutMigration #YoungGenerationKnows” took place in the current March-May period and aimed at developing critical thinking among young people by encouraging them to distinguish true from false information, including about refugees and migrants.
