The acting director of INJ participated in the International Anti-Corruption Conference

The interim director of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu, was in Vilnius, Republic of Lithuania, from June 18-21, 2024, to participate in the 21st edition of the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC). Established in 1983, the IACC is held every two years in different regions of the world and hosts between 800 and 2,000 participants from over 135 countries, including heads of state, officials of legal institutions, representatives of civil society and the private sector, etc.

This year the theme of the conference was "Confronting Global Threats. Defending Integrity", aiming to address the increasingly complex challenges posed by corruption schemes and networks. Debates, presentations, exchanges of experiences, training sessions, workshops, bilateral meetings aimed at developing effective strategies to combat corruption at the global level and to strengthen international cooperation in this field took place within the high forum.

On the sidelines of the conference, the members of the Superior Council of the Magistracy - Vasile Șchiopu and Alexandru Postica and the interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu, had a meeting with the representatives of the Judicial Council of Lithuania in order to collaborate on segments of common interest. The delegation also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Republic of Lithuania, where they held talks with His Excellency Emil Druc.

The participation of the Acting Director of the National Institute of Justice at the International Anti-Corruption Conference was made possible thanks to the USAID Justice Reform and Anti-Corruption Project (JARA).
