INJ director, special guest at the "Women who transform justice" conference

The director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, participated as a special guest at the conference "Women who transform justice - dialogues about courage, safety and solidarity", held on November 7, 2025.

The event was organized by UN Women Moldova, in partnership with the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Superior Council of Prosecutors and the Union of Lawyers from the Republic of Moldova, within the program "Increased leadership of women for resilient and peaceful societies", financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

The conference was a platform for inspiration and action, based on the experiences of the participants, and aimed at addressing systemic barriers, promoting gender equality and strengthening the professional safety of women in the field of justice.

In her speech, Ramona Strugariu emphasized the need to implement institutional policies that guarantee protection, balance and respect for women in the legal system. In this context, the National Institute of Justice, with the support of UN Women, developed a complex policy document aimed at regulating the processes of prevention, investigation and sanctioning of discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment.

"If we don't have policy documents, if we don't have regulations that clarify these aspects, that address both prevention and the balance between professional and personal life, and that establish sanctions when such situations of harassment or discrimination happen, it is much more difficult to guarantee a safe work environment," said the director of the National Institute of Justice.
