The director of the INJ participated in the international conference "Good practices in the use of financial-parallel investigations"

Today, September 16, 2025, the director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu took part in the international conference "Good practices in the use of parallel financial investigations". The event is organized by the General Prosecutor's Office with the support of the Global AML/CFT Facility of the European Union, with the aim of strengthening joint efforts to prevent and combat money laundering and financial crimes.

During the session dedicated to training the expertise of judges and prosecutors in this field, the Director of the Institute emphasized the need to develop a European mentality and training of INJ beneficiaries, mentioning the current challenges, such as the limited period allocated to the initial training in relation to the vast curricula. At the same time, Ramona Strugariu highlighted the mission of the National Institute of Justice to train professionals capable of dealing with the modern realities of financial investigations, which include phenomena from the digital environment, cryptocurrencies, electronic evidence or artificial intelligence. He also noted the importance of international cooperation and the belief that the expertise offered by partners must be harnessed through national trainers who acquire knowledge following specialized training. In her speech, the director of the INJ emphasized the relevance of criminal law instruments and European norms in the matter of judicial cooperation.

The international conference takes place this September 16-17 and brings together prosecutors, representatives of national law enforcement institutions, as well as international experts.
